Wara reciter guidelines
Please read these before you reserve a wara. By reserving, you agree to follow them.
- 1Arrive 30 minutes earlyBe at the Jamatkhana at least 30 minutes before the dua so the lead reciter can confirm your wara.
- 2How often you can reciteOne wara per night, one per week and never two nights in a row. If you recited last week, the coming week is someone else's turn.
- 3Can't make it? Just let us knowIf you can't attend, give the wara lead a heads-up ahead of time, at least 2 days before a special night and 1 day before a regular night, so someone else can take your spot.
- 4Special & Friday nights need approvalSpecial Majalis nights and Friday nights are approval-based. Your reservation is held until the wara lead contacts you and approves it.
- 5Regular nights may changeOn a regular night, a reserved wara may be cancelled if there is a Fatiha, Dilsoji, or Samar that evening. The wara lead will let you know if that happens.
- 6Wa'z night cancellationsOn special occasions, Farman and Qaseeda recitations may be cancelled if Wa'z is scheduled for that evening.
- 7Report to the night's leadWhen you arrive, report to the wara lead for that night so they know you are present.
- 8Dress codePlease dress appropriately for jamatkhana: no hoodies and no pure black clothing.
Please arrive at the Jamatkhana at least 30 minutes before the dua. The lead reciter will call to confirm your wara.
